And when we went on to explore the larger mammals in Hawaii and an endangered species like Sea Horse I had the equally strong belief that this second set of sea essences was for expanding our potentials as human beings in relation to our nervous systems, our sensory systems and our electrical systems. Indeed the two stories above are exactly what I intuitively understood when we first began researching the first sea essences on the planet. And remember we don't have to start from a place of trauma or deficiency in order to benefit from these amazing 'gifts from the sea'. We can use them merely to expand our possibilities moving forward from a place of health and wellbeing.

Dear Abundant Friends--
In a recent yoga class, when the teacher directed us to move from a vigorous standing sequence to a quiet Child's Pose, he added one piece of advice: "Just because you're in a restful pose," he said, "don't let your breath flatten. Keep it connected and alive." As often happens for me in yoga, I understood that this simple instruction could be just as helpful "off the mat" in my daily life, as it was "on the mat" in yoga class.
For example, in my financial life, when I'm experiencing a period in which resources are tight and I'm working hard to make ends meet, I make a distinct effort to cultivate sources of income, connecting with old clients, creating new workshops, contacting businesses that might want to partner with me in offering a writing event to their customers--and, above all, keeping my spiritual connections alive.
But when financial times are easier and abundance is flowing, I can get a little lax. I take it easy, put off connecting with my spiritual guides, making a follow-up phone call or writing a thank-you e-mail. After all, everything is going fine without my making an effort--isn't it?
In yoga terms, in times of financial ease, I "let my breath flatten," rather than keeping a consistent, committed focus on my business.
Certainly, there is an ebb and flow to all processes in which energy is circulated. And, certainly, my business is one such process. But riding the flow with attention rather than collapsing and "letting my breath flatten" allows me to respond easily to the shifts, challenges, and opportunities that arise each day. It also assures that I won't be behind the curve when the next ebb cycle begins.
So how do I pull this off? What does it look like on the mental, emotional, spiritual, and practical levels? Here's a short list of easy-to-accomplish tasks which, attended to regularly, will keep me AND my business well-fed and tended.
In the ebb-times and the flow, I can commit to . . .
On the MENTAL level
On the EMOTIONAL level
On the PRACTICAL level
One of the gifts of both the Abundance Essence and its "sister," the Abundance Stabilizer, is that they help me think more creatively, keep my energy flowing in a positive direction, making actions like these easy and fun!
With their help--and this simple but effective list--I suspect that cultivating a more consistent awareness in my work-life will help me create a steadier, more stable personal economy. While there will always be an ebb to follow a flow, by taking my yoga teacher's good advice, I can stay on top of the waves as they roll.
ABUNDANCE 101: Where in your life do you "let your breath flatten"? What steps could you take--at the MENTAL, EMOTIONAL, SPIRITUAL, and PRACTICAL levels--to become more consistent in your awareness of that aspect of your life?
